An ongoing series of work using collage with botanical ink, etching paper, panel and photographic Moon Drawings.

During my time living in the ancient oak woodland in West Wales (2010-2015), I started going for full moon night walks and began making drawings in the dark. I set my camera on a long exposure and used the moon as a light source with which to draw. I call these photographic works Moon Drawings. This continued once my son was born and whilst he was in bed, Iā€™d use it as studio time.

Since 2017, during a residency at Elysium gallery in Swansea, pregnant with my second child, I created a sit down project and began to play with and combine the oak gall work on paper with these Moon Drawings to create collage and diptychs. When making, I look for surprising relationships and unexpected collaborations between ideas. Since the residency I have made large scale diptychs on panel with gesso and oak gall ink next to the photographic pieces.
